Job Description:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring a Casual Cashier for their Cape Road store in Port Elizabeth. The role involves providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale, handling transactions accurately, and adhering to company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier/till operations
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Sound numerical skills
• Strong command of English
• Basic customer service skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
• Build professional relationships with customers
• Report customer feedback to store management
• Maintain awareness of sales and promotions
• Manage cash flow and ensure adherence to security policies
• Process payments and handle various forms of payment
• Ensure cash is handled securely and transactions are accurate
• Address customer queries and report suspicious behavior

Competencies:

• Proficiency in operating cash registers
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication skills (written and oral)
• Presentable and professional demeanor
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Trustworthy and honest

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of a third additional language
