Job Overview:

Join a leading research institution in South Africa as one of 54 Temporary Asset Verification Clerks. This critical role involves managing and verifying assets, ensuring accurate documentation and data management, which is vital for effective asset optimization and risk management. Your efforts will contribute to the integrity of the organization’s fixed asset register, a key component in corporate governance and financial auditing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Verification: Conduct comprehensive audits of assets, cross-referencing the fixed asset register with physical assets to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Barcode Tagging: Implement a new barcode tagging system across all assets, enhancing inventory management and asset tracking processes.
  • Data Management: Update asset information within the NetTrace asset management system, ensuring data integrity and reliability for financial reporting and asset management.
  • Inventory Optimization: Identify and catalog assets not currently listed on the fixed asset register, improving asset utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the ARC’s asset management team across various locations, providing critical support in asset administration and loss prevention.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all asset-related activities align with corporate governance standards, reducing the risk of compliance issues during financial audits.

Requirements:

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12 certificate, with a focus on information management or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing asset records, critical for effective risk management and corporate compliance.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for reporting and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must submit a comprehensive CV, covering letter, certified copies of certificates, a driver’s license, and contact details for at least three referees.
    • Non-RSA citizens must provide certified copies of work permits and SAQA evaluation reports for foreign qualifications.
    • Applicants will undergo a thorough background check as part of the security clearance process.
