Job Description:
As the Clothing Manager, you will be responsible for managing resources, ensuring that all processes and policies are followed, and maintaining the highest standards in the department. Your goal will be to drive sales, manage inventory, and ensure excellent customer service while leading and developing your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resource Management: Maximize turnover by effectively managing resources and minimizing shortages.
- Merchandise Management: Ensure adherence to merchandise/display standards, conduct regular quality checks on merchandise, and optimize stock levels.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards, ensuring proper handling of hazardous chemicals and identifying potential hazards.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory, monitor competitor developments, and build supplier relationships to optimize category performance.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor departmental gross margins and turnover, conduct bi-annual stock takes, and identify deviations.
- People Management: Evaluate staff performance, provide input into scheduling, and supervise and develop staff to meet department objectives.
- Operations & Maintenance: Ensure equipment is maintained and operated according to standards, and manage maintenance schedules.
- Shrinkage & Security: Implement shrinkage control measures, monitor areas of potential loss, and ensure adherence to security procedures.
- Administration: Complete relevant documentation, monitor price changes, analyze stock reports, and confirm daily rosters.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, handle complaints, and manage customer interactions, including returns and exchanges.
- Sales Promotions: Plan, implement, and evaluate in-store sales promotions and ensure their successful execution.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Matric Grade 12.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory role, with specific experience in Clothing or General Merchandise.
