Intercape is seeking a talented PHP Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. You will work on proprietary systems that have been developed and expanded over 24 years. The primary work location will be in the Cape Town airport industrial area, with occasional work-from-home days allowed, provided you have reliable power, internet, and a quiet workspace.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
– Develop and maintain existing systems and applications.
– Collaborate with the team to enhance system functionality.
– Work on both legacy systems and CodeIgniter 3 frameworks.
– Handle SQL queries across various databases.
– Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
– Troubleshoot and debug existing codebases.
– Provide clear and concise documentation for code and systems.
**Desired Experience & Qualifications:**
**Experience:**
– Minimum of 5 years of PHP development experience.
– Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Experience with legacy systems and CodeIgniter 3 is highly advantageous.
– Proficiency in SQL queries and database management.
– Comfortable working on and improving existing code.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
– Tertiary qualification with 5 years of relevant work experience, or Matric with 7 years of experience in a software development role.
– Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent understanding of full-stack development.
– Proficiency in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
– Experience with frameworks such as CodeIgniter 3.
– Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
