Full Job Description: Closed Protection Officer (Male)

Prime African Security is looking for a Closed Protection Officer for our office based in Hatfield, Pretoria.

Contractual Arrangement: Fixed-term appointment

Package and Remuneration: Depending on experience

The primary objective of the role is as follows:

The Closed Protection Officer is responsible for providing physical protection and to ensure the safety of the Principal at all times, both in public and private settings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides advice on operational requirements within the mandated area of operations and the time of assignment;
• Maintains security coverage for the working office and personal residence of the Principal;
• Ensures that mitigating measures are in place at all time to deter or deny identified threat and to preserve the security, safety and well-being of the Principal
• Ensures that continued effectiveness of the close protection team remains in relation to the changes of the threat level;
• Conducts Close Protection Operations; Close Protection Officer
• Accompanies the Principal during official travels and coordinates all related security requirements;
• Within delegated authority, liaises with relevant security focal points and briefs members of the CP Team;
• Prior to initiating a deployment, coordinates with representatives of mission units or departments on issues of the location, current threat and political climate
• Identifies gaps in existing capability and makes recommendation for amendment;
• Performs any other duties as required.

Competencies: Close Protection Officer

• Matric
• Relevant Diploma (An advantage)
• PSIRA Registered (Minimum Grade A).
• Valid Business Purposes Firearm Competency
• SASSETA accredited VIP Protection Certificate
• Driver’s License
• Advanced Driving Certificate
• First aid and Fire Fighter (1st Aid Level 3 or FPOS)
• Statement of Results
• Over 3 years’ experience working as a CPO
• Clear criminal/credit history
• Superior level of fitness
