An exciting opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Artisan – Rigger at Tubatse Ferrochrome, situated in Steelpoort, Limpopo Province. The successful candidate will be responsible to lift, move and stack loads according to workplace requirements and safely carry out preventative maintenance and repairs to the plant in line with documented work instructions.

Job Description

Purpose of the job

To lift, move and stack loads according to workplace requirements. To safely carry out preventative maintenance and repairs to the plant in line with documented work instructions. Ensure all lifting studies are correctly completed as per OHS Act requirements. Ensure all lifting equipment legal documentation is maintained and that all lifting equipment and lifting tackle complies to OHS Act.

 

Job Responsibilities

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality:

• Ensure that all lifting and rigging tasks are in compliance with SOP.
• Participate in Risk Assessments based on external and internal Influences
• Adhere to Behavioural Expectations
• Participate in formal SHEQ Audits
• Participate in Significant Incident Investigations.

 

Customers:

• Never hand over equipment that is inappropriately maintained.
• Never do a job without receiving authorization in the form of notification of a work order.

 

Work execution:

• Perform the job as outlined in the Work Order and as per the detailed.
• Task List
• Capture history & complete the notification to the required standard.
• Confirm Work Order with the correct time and all details to the required standard.
• Provide feedback to the Maintenance Specialist on any task where there is a difference between the task instruction and the job requirements.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 / N3
• Rigger Trade Test
• 3 Years’ relevant experience as Rigger
• Boilermaker / Fitter background and experience will be an advantage.
